Officer and StudentThe Life Skills classroom at Ponaganset High School surprised Glocester Police Department's Officer Jeffrey Jenison with a special presentation honoring him for his heroic acts in the community.
The students had read about Officer Jenison’s rescue on September 19th when he saved a man’s life from an accident that took place in Spring Grove Pond. Mrs. Paolantonio invited Officer Jenison into her classroom on Tuesday October 18th leading him under the impression that he was going to talk to the students about safety and his rescue. When he arrived the students surprised him with a presentation that they created for him showcasing all the interesting facts they learned about the rescue!

The students presented Officer Jenison with a plaque that they created for him that stated he was a Local Hero for demonstrating superior strength and courage. Mrs. Paolantonio felt that this was a wonderful way for the Life Skills classroom along with other Ponaganset students to express to Officer Jenison how proud of him they are for his heroic rescue as well as personally thank him for his daily commitment to keeping our town and school safe.

On our main website page is a picture from the event showing Vanessa, Leeann, Jay, John, Kate, Alex and Robbie beaming with excitement as they meet their hero!
