Reopening In-Person Information & Registration

2020-2021 Reopening Plans

Registration Form - 100% Full In-Person, Hybrid, and Transportation

Foster-Glocester Regional Schools approved Reopening Plan  has 4 scenarios required by RI Department of Education: Full in-person, Partial/Hybrid (50% capacity), Limited (about 25% capacity) and full virtual.

Families wishing to register their student for full virtual academy for the 2020-2021 SY may find more information and the registration form on the Virtual Academy page.  The registration form must be completed by August 15th.

As approved by RIDE, we will implement the plan that the state decides in mid-August.  Our full in-person plan is a partial/hybrid model with the option to attend every day in person to the extent that we can accommodate the request while maintaining the safety protocols in place.  All students will be assigned a group for the Partial/Hybrid Scenario.  Students will attend either Tuesdays and Wednesdays OR Thursdays and Fridays.
Families that know they NEED to attend every day must complete the registration form below.

Transportation Commitment

Parents of eligible students, who know they NEED a school bus, MUST OPT-IN for transportation for the school year. If parents/guardians do not register for bus transportation, those students will be not be included on the bus rosters to allow for more accurate planning of routes.

The district continues to develop plans for the safe reopening of school in on August 31, 2020. We are striving to comply with RIDOH directives, which require social distancing on buses, every student to wear a mask at all times, sit in assigned seats, and face forward.

The recommendation from the Governor's office and the District is that parents, if possible, make arrangements to either drive their students to school (potentially arranging carpools) or allow them to walk or bike to school (not really plausible options in our district).

We will try to accommodate all parents who opt-in to transportation. However, if requests for transportation exceed capacity, we will apply School Committee Policy when determining which students ultimately access district provided transportation. Current policy states no child shall be required to walk more than one (1) mile to a school bus stop or school building. We will do our best services to our students and families. However, if more families need transportation than state guidelines permit, this will may not be possible this year.

Please submit the names of ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL children who NEED transportation on the form below.

Transportation requests for Foster Elementary School and Glocester Elementary School children must be submitted on a separate form found on the respective elementary school district websites.
